Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus Announces the Tender for companies in the frames of GIZ Project “Assessment of Pasture Condition in Sagarejo Municipality, Georgia”

1. THE PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The objective of this assignment is to assess the condition of the entire pasture land in Sagarejo Municipality, Georgia (i.e. scaling up the methodology of estimation of grassland quality under pasturing using multispectral remote sensing data and ground assessment developed under IBiS). The assessment will provide the baseline to  identify specific entry points for the LDN indicators at municipal level,  providing recommendations for applying ecologically sustainable stocking rates and distribution of livestock grazing effectively

 

2.    ASSIGNMENT

The Project start day is January 1, 2019 and planned end day October 31, 2019.

 

3. EVALUATION

Selected applicants will be invited to the tender.

Evaluation will be made in accordance with the quality- cost based selection method.

 

4. TASKS

Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus, executing the project “Assessment of Pasture Condition in Sagarejo Municipality, Georgia”, announces the tender for companies to execute the tasks assigned in the project document.

  • Pastureland delimitation:
  • Development of methodology and detailed outline/ planning for pasture assessment in Sagarejo Municipality
  • Pasture assessment
  • Socio-economic research
  • Data analysis and recommendations
  • Validation of the results and preparation of final version of the study

 

ToR is attached in English annexed with more detailed specifications.

 

The implementing company must have:

 

1.    Minimum ten (10) years of experience in carrying out Pasture monitoring and sustainable management projects.

2.    Carried out minimum ten (10) Ecological, botanical and ornithological surveys and studies projects.

3.    Team consisting of minimum five (5) members with at least five (5) years of working experience.

 

5. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION

The deadline for submission of Expression of Interest (EoI): 28 December, 2018, 18:00 Central European Time (CET).
