PROCUREMENT OF INTERIOR DESIGN SERVICES  FOR BIOSPHERE RESERVE INFORMATION CENTER

BACKGROUND

In 2022, the International Coordination Council of UNESCO’s “Man and Biosphere” (MAB) Program designated the Three Alazani Biosphere Reserve (BR) as part of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves. This initiative aims to protect natural ecosystems, biodiversity, and cultural heritage in the Kakheti region while fostering sustainable development for local communities.

REC Caucasus, with financial support from the German government and technical assistance from GIZ, is implementing the project “Biosphere Reserves as Model Regions for Sustainable Development – Capacity Development for Coordinated and Effective Management of the Three Alazani Rivers Biosphere Reserve in Georgia.”

One of the key components of the project is the establishment of the Three Alazani Biosphere Reserve Information Center to serve as a space for visitors, educational events, exhibitions, and meetings. The information center must be visually appealing and functionally optimized to meet these objectives.

REC Caucasus is seeking qualified individuals or firms to provide interior design services for the development of this center.

SCOPE OF WORK

The selected contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Development of the interior design concept for the information center.
• Preparation of a detailed interior design project, including: Plan drawings (AutoCAD format), 3D visualization (3ds Max or similar professional software), მaterial specifications, ლighting scheme, furniture layout plan, wall elevations
• Incorporation of design elements that reflect the unique ecosystem and cultural heritage of the biosphere reserve.
• Effective lighting design, considering that the designated space lacks natural lighting.
• Estimation of the cost required for the implementation of the interior design project.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Interested applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in interior design or architecture.
• Demonstrated expertise in functional and aesthetic space design.
• Experience in designing educational or informational spaces.
• Ability to deliver high-quality designs within the given timeframe.
• Strong portfolio showcasing similar past projects.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

1. Technical proposal, including Conceptual approach, methodology, work plan, and timeline.
2. Financial proposal (in GEL, excluding VAT, as per Annex 2).
3. The proposed prices must include all applicable taxes, except (VAT). 
4. CV(s) or company profile, highlighting relevant experience.
5. Portfolio showcasing previous interior design projects.

Note: The proposal must be submitted in Georgian language, and the financial proposal must be presented separately from the technical proposal.

PARTICIPATION

Participation is open to all individual consultants (not companies) registered in Georgia.

Interested candidates should submit their applications via email, indicating the publication reference number “062/RECC/G/GIZ – 2023-EA-2.17” in the subject line. The submission should include a signed application form comprising the technical proposal, CVs, and financial proposal in PDF format.

NOTIFICATION OF AWARD AND SIGNATURE OF CONTRACT

Only the successful applicant will be contacted and emailed that their application has been accepted. Within five (5) working days of receipt of the contract, the selected applicant must sign and return the contract to REC Caucasus for counter-signature. Failure to do so may result in the annulment of the award decision.

Unsuccessful applicants may request information on the outcome of the selection process via email.
