REC Caucasus Project-Level Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) for the GEF Financed Project Achieving Land Degradation Neutrality Targets of Georgia through Restoration and Sustainable Management of Degraded Pasturelands (2020-2023)

 

The Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus (REC Caucasus) as operational partner is involved in implementation of the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) financed project Achieving Land Degradation Neutrality Targets of Georgia through Restoration and Sustainable Management of Degraded Pasturelands – GEF Project ID: 10151” (“the Project”).

For successful and transparent implementation of the Project, REC Caucasus in September, 2020 designed project-level Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) at the Project inception phase along with focal point designated and communicated to the stakeholders to ensure that people and communities affected by the project can file a complaints.

Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) provides for project-level complaint resolution operational procedures. The principles to be followed during the complaint resolution process include: impartiality, respect for human rights, including those pertaining to indigenous peoples, compliance of national norms, coherence with the norms, equality, transparency, honesty, and mutual respect.
