On November 14-15, Tbilisi will host Europe Region Preparatory Process – Regional Preparatory Meeting in Hotel Radisson Blu Iveria.
The Regional Preparatory Meeting is the part of the overall preparatory process for The 6th World Water Forum (WWF), to be held in Marseille in 2012. The World Water Forum intends to strengthen the role of the Regional process (one of the four preparatory processes of the Forum) in order to implement a participative bottom-up approach, where regional stakeholders will play a key role in setting their own Targets and finding their “Solutions for water”.
The main objectives of the Regional Preparatory Meeting to held in Tbilisi, are to share information on the background processes of preparation for the 6th World Water Forum, to identify a preliminary set of topics for “regional specificities”, to undertake the designation of ad hoc working groups and to forecast a framework of activities to be carried out under the regional process until the Forum in Marseille. REC Caucasus is inviting all the interested parties, may it be water administrations and organizations, interested in the Caucasus Countries or member and candidate countries of the European Union and of all the other countries of Eastern Europe, to attend the Regional Preparatory Meeting.
This 6th World Water Forum on its behalf, is “Time for Solutions”: It aims at developing concrete solutions that illustrate how water can contribute to tackle the challenges currently faced by our planet. It wants to reach commitments and solutions through the definition of Targets that are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-bound). A multi-stakeholder approach is a key element in the Regional Process which aims at putting proposals for solutions in concrete form through the organization of WISE (Wide-Involvement Stakeholder Exchanges) processes in each region.
