On September 22, 2017, The Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus organized a meeting in Telavi Administrative Building with the Head of Special Purpose Association BR Bliesgau (Germany) – Dr. Theophil Gallo. The meeting was held within the frames of the project – “Biosphere Reserves as model regions for climate change mitigation and adaptation – capacity development for the establishment of a biosphere reserve in Kakheti”.
The aim of the meeting was to exchange the information with the biosphere region planning stakeholders and to support partnership with Kakheti Biosphere Region.
The meeting was attended by the Governor of Kakheti – Mr. Irakli Kadagishvili, who supported the initiative to establish biosphere reserve in Kakheti and promised to support contracting parties; the representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia – Mr. Karlo Amirgulashvili and Mr. Papuna Kapanadze, the representatives of Akhmeta, Telavi and Dedoplistskharo Municipalities and the members of the project working groups were in attendance as well.
