Project Title – Central Georgia Solid Waste Project – Feasibility Study

Implementing Organization – Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia Ltd (SWMCG)

Consultants – COWI; Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus (REC Caucasus)

Project Objective – To implement a modern, integrated solid waste management system in the Shida Kartli, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, and Samtskhe-Javakheti regions, aimed at ensuring environmental safety and protecting human health.

Components – The envisioned system includes:

  • Establishment of a network of two new regional sanitary landfills
  • Creation of six waste transfer stations
  • Assessment of the future feasibility of setting up two mechanical-biological treatment (MBT) plants
