Objectives –

The proposed project envisages the execution of the set of activities related to the update of the National Waste Management Strategy 2016-2030, which will incorporate modified targets and address the issues of bio-degradable and hazardous waste, as well as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). The document will incorporate relevant Action Plan 2021-2025 and will be prepared in consultation with regional authorities, industry associations, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and others.

Activities within the assignment include but not limited to:

  • Output 1: Updated national Waste Management Strategy 2016-2030, which will incorporate modified targets and address the issues of bio-degradable and hazardous waste, as well as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is prepared and
  • Output 2: A National Waste Action Plan 2021-2025 under the National Waste Strategy 2016-2030 developed
  • Output 3: Three inter-ministerial and stakeholder consultations workshops organized.
  • Output 4: A communication, dissemination and awareness- raising complain to ensure informed strategy formulation process is developed
