Objectives –

To mainstream agro-biodiversity conservation into the agriculture sector of Samtskhe-Javakheti Region of Georgia.

The specific objectives of the project are:

  • Improved national policy and legal frameworks to sustainably manage agricultural biodiversity and support livelihoods through adapted wild edible plants (local vine and wheat varieties) in agricultural production;
  • Demonstration of diversified agricultural biodiversity-friendly practices and products through adapted wild edible plants (local vine and wheat varieties) – Has both TA and INV;
  • Increased awareness of the importance of agricultural biodiversity, capacity building of the key stakeholders and knowledge management
