Background:

The Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus (REC Caucasus) is a non-profit organization working to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development in the South Caucasus region. The organization facilitates cooperation between governments, NGOs, businesses, and local communities to enhance environmental protection and public participation.

REC Caucasus provides national and international stakeholders with comprehensive services aimed at solving environmental challenges through regional cooperation and knowledge exchange. The organization serves as a unique platform, being the only institution in the South Caucasus founded by the governments of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.

Through capacity building, training programs, and public awareness initiatives, REC Caucasus works to strengthen environmental governance and civic participation in decision-making processes. Our international advisory council, comprising representatives from the South Caucasus countries and international donors, ensures effective regional collaboration and implementation of best environmental practices.

REC Caucasus is announcing this internship opportunity as part of its commitment to developing young environmental professionals and strengthening institutional capacity in the region. This internship aims to provide hands-on experience in environmental project management and organizational operations while offering valuable learning opportunities for emerging professionals interested in environmental conservation and sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Administrative and Documentation:
  • Assist in preparing Terms of References
  • Support tender announcement processes
  • Handle document management and filing
  • Draft reports and meeting minutes
  • Support in written translations (English-Georgian)
  1. Communication and Content Management:
  • Create and manage website content
  • Develop social media materials
  • Prepare communications materials and press releases
  1. Event Management:
  • Assist in organizing stakeholder meetings and workshops
  • Support event logistics and coordination
  • Prepare meeting materials and documentation
  • Facilitate communication with project partners

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from Bachelor’s or Master’s program;
  • Basic understanding of environmental issues;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in Georgian and English;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team;
  • Strong attention to detail.

Language Requirements:

Fluency in Georgian and English (written and spoken)
