Objectives – The overall objective of the Project is to improve living conditions and quality of life of local communities to achieve inclusive and sustainable growth and sustainable management of natural resources at local level through establishment of Vashlovani Biosphere Reserve in Dedoplistskaro Municipality of Kakheti Region.
Expected Results:
- Vashlovani Biosphere Reserve as model for inclusive and sustainable growth at local level is established and functioning
- Vashlovani Biosphere Reserve is internationally designated by UNESCO and included into the World Network of Biosphere Reserves
- Local capacities in multilevel governance and cross-scale coordination between national, regional and local levels for sustainable management of planned Biosphere Reserve’s common-pool natural resources are increased
- Multi-stakeholder cooperation platform and its municipal working group established to support elaboration of legal and institutional framework for establishment and further management of Vashlovani Biosphere Reserve
- Nature-based tourism and sustainable agricultural practices are supported through implementation of demonstration field measures
